DiCentral Acquires EDI and Data Integration Products Trading Partner and Unite! from EMANIO

In August, DiCentral acquired the EDI and data integration products Trading Partner and Unite! from EMANIO, Inc. The product acquisition will expand DiCentral's ability to help organizations create more intelligent and dynamic business networks by simplifying and automating the way they connect and communicate with customers, partners and suppliers.

The acquisition of Trading Partner and Unite! further expands DiCentral's enterprise data and B2B integration suite, creating the most comprehensive data integration product set for transactional and operational applications regardless of data volume or latency. "This uniquely enables our customers to apply data integration solutions throughout their extended enterprise," said Thuy Mai, Chairman and CEO, DiCentral. More than 2,000 customers in the retail, manufacturing, health care, communications, and distribution industries use Trading Partner and Unite! to translate, integrate and analyze EDI transactions.

The product acquisitions strongly complement DiCentral's product portfolio and align with DiCentral's industry and product expansion strategies of growing both organically and through acquisition, enabling the additional capabilities to DiCentral's existing framework supporting the retail, manufacturing, communications, government, health care and banking industries. This transaction represents the third acquisition completed by DiCentral in the last two years.

Your Choice: Behind the firewall or in the cloud

With the acquisition of Emanio's Trading Partner and Unite! products, DiCentral now offers its customers a choice: to deploy EDI behind the firewall or in the cloud. There are many factors that may lead a customer to choose one solution over the other. For example, startup costs are often a main driver. Typically the startup costs for an in-house solution are higher than SaaS. Or maybe tighter control over the environment is what the customer needs and an in-house solution is best. The bottom line is that customers now have a choice. It may be best to blend the in-house solution with a managed one to get some of the best attributes of both models.

Many of you may remember the announcement that EDI is dead and that XML is here to replace it. You may also remember when it was announced that the VAN is dead and will be replaced with AS2. We all have seen the impact that these technologies have had on B2B integration. Now the claim is that the Cloud will replace in-house solutions. The reality is that we end up using the solution that proves to be a best fit for our unique needs. Commonly it turns out that a hybrid solution is the answer.

We are ready to help you find the right solution to meet your unique needs. Contact us at today.

DiCentral and Base2 Named Great Supply Chain Partners by SupplyChainBrain

DiCentral and its automotive EDI division, Base2, have each been named a 2011 "Great Supply Chain Partner" by SupplyChainBrain.

SupplyChainBrain's 9th annual list of 100 Great Supply Chain Partners is the result of a six-month online poll in which supply chain professionals were asked to nominate vendors and service providers whose solutions have made a significant impact on their company's efficiency, customer service, and overall supply chain performance.

Nominations were received for hundreds of trading partners in every aspect of supply chain management. "The 2011 July/ August issue of SupplyChainBrain magazine includes the select list of companies who have so impressed our readers that they deserve to be singled out and to be held up as examples for others in the industry," stated Brad Berger, publisher, SupplyChainBrain. "Our compliments on making the final cut of those 100 companies who received the most qualified nominations!"

Madison Precision Products, Inc. Improves Efficiency with Base2, DiCentral's Automotive Division

Base2, DiCentral's Honda certified automotive EDI division, provided Indiana-based Madison Precision Products, Inc. with Exact Macola integration and the tools to meet Honda's trading partner requirements.

After implementing the Base2 EDI solution, Madison Precision Products was able to efficiently adapt to Honda's sales order changes. Base2's solution stores inbound data exactly as it is received. The unique nature of each inbound order is preserved for ASN creation. For Madison Precision Products, the ASNs sent to Honda now display the correct (multiple) PO numbers.

In addition, Base2's solution provides fast, efficient integration to Exact Macola. With Base2's Macola interface—MacLink—the order data is automatically imported into Madison Precision Products' ERP system. Instead of hundreds of hours spent annually on manual order data entry, now it only takes two minutes per shipment to complete the task. For Madison Precision Products, order fulfillment has been greatly simplified, and the chance of error is almost nonexistent.

Finally, Madison Precision Products further simplifies their operation with Base2's labeling system. With Lineside Labeling, hundreds of labels are printed daily, and parts are labeled as they come off the manufacturing line. The labels are prepopulated and are produced in the correct format and quantity for the shipment. No data re-entry is needed, thus greatly reducing chance of error.

MindsInSync Manages Triple-Digit Growth with DiCentral's DiOMS

MindsInSync, the manufacturer of the Microdry and Aquatopia brands, chose DiCentral's DiOMS as its Order Management System. After implementation, MindsInSync experienced substantial benefits and was able to successfully scale with new business.

After introducing the Microdry and Aquatopia brands, MindsInSync's business began rapidly growing, launching the company from the national market to the international market. With substantially increased orders, the company needed to be able to properly scale with booming business.

Through the synchronization of multiple order types, inventory status, and ASNs, DiOMS helped to match customer demand to supply for accurate order management, allowing MindsInSync to successfully manage their triple-digit growth. DiOMS is a Cloud-connected, locally installed solution providing companies with greater inventory control and enhanced order processing and execution, and features embedded EDI tools that automate the order management process.

DiOMS has multiple modules that make it simple for use by growing organizations needing order management or deeper functionality for inventory and warehouse management processes. MindsInSync benefits because DiOMS is delivered pre-connected to DiCentral's Smart Cloud Network. They are now able to route data through the Smart Cloud Network and achieve the same results as a team of consultants and multiple software packages. With DiOMS, the entire solution is in one package from one company, with quick-start implementation.

"Before DiOMS, the order fulfillment process was far too time-consuming," stated Paul Cuthbertson, MindsInSync's Chief Operating Officer, "and once the retailers created the direct-to-store shipping stipulation for vendors, it became nearly impossible. DiOMS, though, enables MindsInSync to successfully fulfill customer orders, while enabling us to grow with future business."

In addition, DiOMS simplifies MindsInSync's business processes by allowing integration of order expenditures to their QuickBooks accounting system. Through DiCentral's certified QuickBooks adapters, suppliers can streamline the entire invoicing process, which includes factoring, data keying automation, and GAAP invoice automation. For MindsInSync, it now takes only one person to manage all incoming orders, keeping operating costs lower and manual processes to a minimum.
