DiCentral and the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain – McKesson Corporation Supplier Enablement

DiCentral, as a result of a successful corporate EDI enablement project with McKesson Corporation, has added over 170 pharmaceutical manufacturers (suppliers) to its list of DiWeb users. Exchanging Purchase Orders and Invoices with McKesson enables both sides to streamline the Order-to-Cash cycle of business. In order to get payment to manufacturers quicker, McKesson now can use reliable information sent through DiCentral’s internet based (SaaS) network and eliminate internal errors experienced with paper invoicing. Each McKesson supplier (manufacturer) using DiCentral’s DiWeb interface has unprecedented visibility into the data being traded between them and their largest VIP customers like McKesson.

Additionally, due to DiCentral’s open network technology, each supplier can add other important trading partners to their DiWeb account in order to exchange electronic data. The list includes other pharmaceutical industry players like, but is not limited to, Abbott Labs, Cardinal Health, Amerisource-Bergen, HD Smith, Medline, Morris Dickson, Oncology Supply, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, and Drugstore.com.

DiCentral also has the ability to add additional pharmaceutical supply chain transactions to DiWeb accounts. The EDI 844 Rebate (or chargeback) transaction used in the pharmaceutical distribution supply chain is used by large pharmaceutical distributors to indicate to suppliers which products were sold at a discounted price to the hospital, clinic or group purchasing organization (GPO). In addition, the response transaction to the 844, called 849 Response to Rebate transaction, allows the supplier manufacturer to quickly determine which products to accept or reject rebate requests from the pharmaceutical distributor. The result is a more efficient process which saves time and eliminates errors.

DiWeb users may elect to accept the 844 on the web and click through to return an 849 back to the pharmaceutical distributor. The other method is to integrate the data to their backend Inventory or ERP system, provided the system can accommodate the data. To determine the most effective option for DiWeb users, DiCentral can provide an analysis of their unique system environment.

Turnaround Default Setting Feature

If you find yourself typing in the same data over and over to blank fields on the DiFiller form, you can set your own default data that will appear automatically in that field every time you open that form.
